Self Confidence and Self Esteem Coaching

Of all of our perceptions self confidence and self esteem are so important as they have a major impact on every aspect of our lives. It effects the way we feel about ourselves much of the time and effects the way that we feel when with others and our ability to be able to relax. Also most importantly it effects our levels of happiness and self value.  

Self Confidence

Is belief in our ability to do certain things. It is confidence within ourselves and belief with our abilities. Many people gain self confidence from having completed certain tasks successfully. however it is when people perform new tasks where the outcome is uncertain that can cause people to lack self confidence.

Are any of the following questions relevant to you: 

  • Do you have believe in yourself?
  • Do you feel that you can cope even if the outcome isn't what you wanted?
  • Do you not attempt to do a task for fear of failure?
  • Do you experience alot of negative self-talk about yourself?

Self confidence coaching aims to restore confidence in yourself and your abilities and to be accepting of uncertainty. It also aims to alter negative thinking patterns and to be able to face any fears we may have about performing certain tasks or situations.

Self Esteem

Is not the same thing as self confidence. We may have the belief and be confident to perform certain tasks but still have low self esteem. For example we may be confident in our ability to perform well in a specific sport or do our job well or give a good public speech. Even though we may perform these tasks well it does not mean that we appraise ourselves and out total worth in a positive way. Self esteem is the way that we value our total worth not just our abilities in certain areas.

  • Do you have a low sense of self worth?
  • Do you often have  negative patterns of thinking?
  • Do you have a low self image?
  • Do you often feel you are  being true to yourself?
  • Are you often comparing yourself with other people?
  • Do you have an excessive need for approval?  

Self esteem coaching aims to develop a good sense of self value and self worth by addressing any limiting beliefs one has about oneself. Also it focuses on identifying and resolving the root cause of the problem and challeging any negative aspects one may have of oneself.
